Iceland - Eastern Area
The eastern area of Iceland has, in my opinion, some of the prettiest areas of an already spectacular country. Scenic deep water fiords are found farther north, waterfalls abound, and there are numerous easily accessible glaciers to enjoy.

All Travel Blogs (by Country)

General
1) Waterfalls Around the World (Updated 9/16/08) : Waterfalls are one of my favorite subjects in Landscapes, for many reasons. In this blog we'll travel around the world for some of the most breathtaking waterfalls I've had a chance to photograph.

Australia
1) Melbourne Area (Posted 6/24/08) : Australia itself seems to step out of the surreal, with its placement so far away from everything else and the animals that inhabit it. Melbourne is a great stop, with the city herself to the Great Ocean Road there is so much to see!

Belize
1) Belize and Cayo Districts (Posted 5/5/09) : Belize is a remote yet easily accessible country in Central America with much to offer. From fantastic diving on the eastern reefs, to the Mayan ruins sprinkled throughout the country, as well as the unique wildlife can landscape it's a gem seldom explored.

Canada
1) Banff National Park (Posted 5/10/08) : Banff Natl Park is located just west of Calgary and is a gorgeous park offering wildlife of all sorts, fantastic vistas, glaciers, brilliant blue lakes, and unforgettable hikes!
2) Jasper National Park (Posted 5/13/08) : Jasper Natl Park is located just west of Calgary / north of Banff National Park. Like its sister park Banff it offers many of the same beautiful sights but is known more for its icefields and glaciers.
3) Kootenay National Park (Posted 5/13/08) : Kootenay Natl Park is located just west of Banff National Park / south of Yoho National Park. Marble Canyons, glacial waterfalls and hot springs make this a great destination.
4) Yoho National Park(Posted 5/13/08) : Yoho Natl Park is located just west of Banff National Park / north of Kootenay National Park. The tallest waterfall in Canada is located here as well as the beautiful glacial lakes like her sister parks.

France
1) Monaco (Posted 5/20/08) : Whether you are into high stakes gambling or relaxing by the sea like a hollywood star, Monaco is the place for you.
2) Paris (Posted 5/20/08) : Hearing 'Paris' immediately brings to mind romance, a classical European city, culture and memorials. It is certainly all that and more.

Honduras
1) Roatan Island (Posted 5/13/08) : Roatan is an island off the northern coast of Honduras and is renowned for its crystal clear waters, beautiful reef, and excellent diving opportunities.

Iceland
1) Eastern Area (Posted 9/17/08) : The eastern area of Iceland has, in my opinion, some of the prettiest areas of an already spectacular country. Scenic deep water fiords are found farther north, waterfalls abound, and there are numerous easily accessible glaciers to enjoy.
2) Western Area (Posted 11/3/08) : It doesn't take long to get outside of Iceland's capital and enjoy the scenery it has to offer. Beautiful waterfalls are immediately available and those with a little more fortitude can explore the fantastic fiords farther north.

Italy
1) Lazio Region (Posted 7/31/08) : Located at the center of the country and with Rome anchoring the region, Lazio truly defines what Italy is and does. Thousands of years of history are easily explored here in the city of Rome alone.
2) Liguria Region (Posted 5/27/08) : On the Italian Riviera, the Liguria Region borders with France on the north western side of the Italian boot. Numerous seaside resorts and ports dot this area along with the protective castles of ages past.
3) Lombardy Region (Posted 6/22/08) : The capital city Milan is known around the world for its art and fashion, while the neighboring Lake Regions offer a scenic beauty to escape away to. So whether you want high fashion or relaxation in the country side, Lombardy has a little something for everyone.
4) Piemonte Region (Posted 5/29/08) : The Piemonte Region is the home of some of the best wines Italy has to offer. Its agricutural area is well known for producing the accompanying foods for the most distinguising pallette, a place for true food connossieurs.
5) Sicilia Region (Posted 7/30/08) : The Sicilia Region is one of the largest and has the well known island of Siciliy at its center. Here military historians can lose themselves in conquests of years past, vulcanoligists can explore mutiple volcanoes, and tourists can relax on the beach!
6) Toscano Region (Posted 7/16/08) : The Toscano Region is one of the more rural areas, with its picturesque landscapes and rolling hills. Simply driving throug the countryside here is a pleasure in itself, simply complimented further with the towns such as Florence and Sienna that reside here.
7) Valle D'Aosta Region (Posted 6/18/08) : This region is one of the smallest and most rugged terrain-wise in Italy, and the views are spectacular. Only one major road slices through the valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Continue to its terminus will bring you ultimately to France and the highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc.
8) Veneto Region (Posted 7/8/08) : Most widely known for its star attraction of Venice, this region also offers the wonders of hand glass blowing in Murano or lace making in nearby Burano. This is truly a unique area.

New Zealand
1) South Island (Posted 5/14/08) : The South Island of New Zealand is the more remote of the two main islands making up New Zealand. With so much natural scenery in mountains, glaciers, waterway sounds and wildlife this is truly a peaceful yet rugged destination.

Switzerland
1) French Region (Posted 5/22/08) : Switzerland is truly an experience in international culture, with a unique mix of Germanic, French and Italian influence. The French Region borders France on the east side near beautiful Lake Geneva.
2) Italian Region (Posted 5/22/08) : Switzerland is truly an experience in international culture, with a unique mix of Germanic, French and Italian influence. The Italian Region borders Italy on the south side of the country.

United States
1) Alaska (Posted 8/5/08) : Alaska is a true wilderness with unbounded scenic possibilites. Glaciers, eagles, Mt Mckliney, Grizzly bears, icebergs, the Northern Lights, etc. - just a small sample of the sights to enjoy here.
2) Arizona (Posted 8/20/08) : If you enjoy desert landscapes, Arizona is the place for you. Sand dunes and cactus dominate this area.
3) California (Posted 9/16/08) : California is such a large state it offers a little bit of everything within its border. Within a couple of hours one can go from beaches to mountains or skiiing to scuba diving. Some of my favorite National Parks lie here.
4) Colorado (Posted 5/7/09) : When I was looking at places to live, it was a hard choice between North Carolina and Colorado. Both offered the great outdoors, wonderful mountain ranges, a wealth of activities close to nature. Colorado is simply a wonderful state where you can see and experience just about everything nature has to offer.
5) Hawaii (Posted 5/12/09) : Hawaii is quite possibly one of the most exotic U.S. state. It's off on its own away from the United States mainland, are a series volcanic islands in the Pacific ocean. A perfect balance of a carribean getaway without having to leave the country.
6) Maine (Posted 6/15/09) : Maine is, from my travels, one of the most 'remote' states on the east coast - especially the farther north you go. Large tracts of uninterrupted forests filled with moose and bear, it reminds me of Colorado or Montana in its rustic nature.
7) Michigan (Posted 6/16/09) : Having been born and raised in Ohio, I made more than a few trips to our neighboring cousin Michigan above us. The Upper Penninsula has some nice remote and relaxing locations (Hiawatha State Park for example), and with a couple of the Great Lakes bordering Michigan there is no restriction on water activities as well.

10) New Mexico (Posted 6/18/09) : New Mexico is home to one of the largest hot air balloon liftoffs in the world in Albuquerque. For over a week in October the skies are filled with hot air balloons, with takeoffs numbering in the hundreds at a time.
11) New York (Posted 8/12/09) : Most think of New York City and all its sights and sounds when they hear New York. However the state has some wonderful coutnryside and waterfalls to also be experienced in addition to the wonders of the bustling metropolis.

15) Puerto Rico (Posted 10/21/09) : Being a U.S. Commonwealth, Puerto Rico is easy to travel to and extremely close to the mainland. With beautiful rainforests, amazing bioluminescent bays, and intriguing history there is no reason not to visit.
