Many photographers organize their pictures into galleries with certain themes, such as 'Sports' or 'Motorcycles'. However, over the years I've found that people I've shared my photos with were most notably interested in:
- Where was that picture taken?
- Do you have any pictures with 'Waterfalls' and 'Rainbows'? (or something similar)
Because of this I've organized my galleries a little differently. First, my 'standard' galleries are organized by the country and location they were taken in. Want to see shots from Cinque Terre, Italy? Just navigate to that gallery. Or perhaps Paris, France? Same thing. You can see this under All Galleries
The second is by far the most powerful and flexible. I've invested a lot of effort to cross-tag all my pictures with related keywords (Dolphins, Boats, Platinum / Gold / Silver Ratings, etc). This allows you quickly locate any pictures relating to what your looking for (as in the example of 'Waterfalls' 'Rainbows'). You can constantly add / remove keywords to dynamically update your gallery. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
Here's How:
- On the following page, select the first keyword you're interested in (don't worry, you can add to it in just a second)
- The page returned will display only those pictures across all galleries that have the keyword you selected associated to them
- Above the pictures on the left you'll see something similar to:
- In 'Related Keywords', you can click on any of the 'Top 5' keywords found across the displayed pictures to alter your search
- In 'Combine With', you can quickly add any other related keywords to refine your existing search further by simply clicking on the related link
That's all there is to it! So now you're ready; Let's search!
